GIGABYTE AI servers and GIGAPOD systems
GIGABYTE publishes GIGAPOD as a scalable unit with two very different physical shapes depending on cooling. That makes it a useful worked example of how the cooling decision changes rack count, power per rack, and what the site has to provide.
What are GIGABYTE AI servers and GIGAPOD?
GIGABYTE offers GPU servers and GIGAPOD rack-scale systems for AI and HPC deployments. Buyers should evaluate the exact server or pod configuration, accelerator platform, rack density, network, storage, power, cooling, site readiness, support, and commercial terms.
Two configurations, same compute, different buildings
GIGABYTE publishes GIGAPOD in air-cooled and liquid-cooled configurations with different servers and different power densities. Comparing them side by side is the clearest illustration of why cooling is a facility decision rather than a preference.

GIGABYTE describes GIGAPOD as scaling from one GPU server up to eight racks with 32 GPU nodes, a total of 256 GPUs. Where a figure here has an "up to" or a named configuration attached, that qualifier is part of the fact and should stay attached when the figure is reused.
A configuration figure is not a portfolio figure
GIGABYTE states that GIGAPOD HPC uses a full-system direct liquid cooling solution with integrated piping achieving up to 91 percent system heat coverage, validated for up to 105 kW per rack.
That is a strong, specific, useful claim, and it belongs to GIGAPOD HPC. It does not describe every GIGABYTE server, it does not describe direct liquid cooling in general, and it is not a SLYD engineering result. The same discipline applies to the 50 kW and 100 kW rack figures above: they are what GIGABYTE publishes for those GIGAPOD configurations, not a design point to apply to an arbitrary rack.
When a manufacturer figure is used in a design, carry the configuration name, the qualifier, and the source date with it. The cooling page and the power page cover what still has to be engineered for the specific site regardless of what the manufacturer publishes.

What is GIGAPOD?
GIGAPOD is GIGABYTE's rack-scale AI system. GIGABYTE describes the scalable unit as either nine air-cooled racks or five liquid-cooled racks, and describes GIGAPOD scaling to eight racks with 32 GPU nodes, a total of 256 GPUs. The cooling choice changes the rack count for the same amount of compute.
How do air-cooled and liquid-cooled GIGAPOD configurations differ?
They use different servers and different power densities. GIGABYTE states that the air-cooled configuration uses an 8U G893-series server and that each rack requires support for 50 kW of power for the IT hardware. The liquid-cooled configuration uses a 4U G4L3-series server with cold plates on all eight GPUs and two CPUs, allowing up to eight servers and 64 GPUs per rack at 100 kW per rack.
What power does a GIGAPOD rack require?
It depends on the configuration, and GIGABYTE publishes both. The air-cooled GIGAPOD configuration is described as requiring rack support for 50 kW of IT hardware power, and the liquid-cooled configuration as requiring 100 kW per rack. Those are GIGABYTE figures for those named configurations and are not a general GIGABYTE rack figure.
